Credit by Examination

The bachelor's degree requires a total of 120 credit hours.  To graduate, students must earn a minimum of 30 credit hours from City Vision College. The additional 90 hours must come from transfer credit hours, credit by examination or additional City Vision College courses.

Transfer credits must come from institutions of higher learning that are accredited by an agency which is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).  Non-U.S. institutions must have an accepted foreign equivalent at an institution listed in the International Handbook of Universities.

Vision College will accept up to 30 hours of transfer credit earned through these credit-by-examination services:

Students may also register to get Credit for Life Experiences.

These examinations are administered at local testing sites throughout the US, mostly at local colleges and universities. Consult these web sites for information about testing times and locations.

The charge for the exams is about $80.00.  Study guides can also be purchased to prepare for the exams. Sites may also charge a modest administrative fee.

The amount of credit awarded is based on the American Council on Education (ACE) recommendations for the minimum scores required.
