Program Goals

Students completing the program will:

  • Understand the history and philosophy of evangelical efforts to reach the city.
  • Recognize the Biblical basis of the urban missions movement.
  • Acquire skills in preaching, counseling, evangelism and discipleship in the urban context.
  • Lead other staff members to accomplish the missions of the organizations with which they are affiliated.
  • Manage programs and services to meet the needs of people seeking assistance at rescue missions and other urban ministries.

Program Details

The City Vision College Missions program focuses on the theory and practice of Christian ministry with a special focus on urban missions.  It includes instruction in theology, evangelism/discipleship, and social services outreach.  The Missions  program can be taken in a degree completion format leading to a Bachelor of Science or as a certificate program.  To earn the degree the student must earn a total of 120 semester credit hours, a minimum of thirty must be from City Vision College.  A total of thirty hours may come through credit-by-examination.
