Mid-term & Final Exam Proctoring Requirements

Mastery of a course is determined by the successful completion of written work and two examinations; a mid-term and a final. Students should complete all assignments for the fourth class session before attempting to take the mid-term examination. The final examination should not be taken until all projects and assignments for the course have been submitted.

To assure the integrity of the courses, mid-term and final examinations must be taken in the presence of a proctor who has been approved by City Vision College. The proctor may be a college or university administrator or faculty member, a school superintendent or principal, a school or public librarian, ministry director, or a pastor. The proctor must possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree and cannot be a relative of the student or another City Vision College student.

Two-step process required to become an approved proctor:

  1. Each proposed proctor must complete the Proctor Application Form and either mail or fax it to City Vision College.

  2. The proposed proctor then must apply for a username and password online at the Proctor Section at the City Vision College web site

  3. He or she will be ready to administer examinations after being notified via e-mail when the application and username/password have been approved.

To take examinations:

  1. The student must arrange with the proctor a time and place for the examination to be administered. He or she must be present in the room with the student during the entire time the examination is being taken.

Please Note: City Vision College exams are not "open book" and students may not use textbooks, notes or study guides to look up answers to test questions.

  2. To take the examinations, the proctor must proceed to the Proctor Section at the City Vision College web site on the same computer the student will use to take the exam. He or she then logs in using the approved username and password.

  3. After he or she has logged in, the proctor selects the link to open the mid-term or final examination the student will take.

  4. THen, the student logs into the exam. This tells our system who is taking the exam and ensures that the student receives credit for the test.

  5.
  6. One the student has answered all of the questions, select the "Submit" button on the bottom of the exam's page to send the results to the college.  Most exams are automatically graded so the student will see his or her grade immediately.  Those exams with essays or short answers will involve the professor in the grading process so the results will not be displayed immediately.  The student will receive an email notification when these exams are graded completely.
