Project Description:

In this PowerPoint presentation, Kelly Thoes outlines her Basic Guide for Volunteer Coordinators, which she created to address the need to standardize information distributed to long and short term volunteers at her site.  The Basic Guide includes information on how Volunteer Coordinators should communicate expectations, the application process, and follow-up resources for these volunteers.  It is divided into four parts:

• Long-term Volunteer Policies and Procedures
• One-time Volunteer Policies and Procedures
• Documents (a sample email to volunteers, their application, and an Illinois non-DCFS background check)
• Volunteer Handbook designed for New Life Centers
