BUS604: Human Resources

A study of management of human resources at the organizational level, including human resource forecasting, planning, and training and development. Topics include the legislative environment of human resource management, labor relations, job analysis, recruiting, performance appraisal, and compensation. 3 Credits.

Course Objectives

In addition to the Program Outcomes marked with an asterisk above, BUS604 is built around three course objectives:

  1. Describe the components of human resource management and their impact on workplace performance (BL 2).
  2. Model the use of HR professional skills in workforce planning, staffing, evaluation, training, compensation, benefits and compliance (BL 3).
  3. Understand the primary role that line managers play to protect their employees and enhance their performance (BL 3).

Each Course Objective listed above is tied to a multi-week Period listed under the "Course Schedule" table in the syllabus.
