Cheryl Hackett, Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Fundraising & Development

Cheryl Hackett serves as the Director of Development at the Wyoming Rescue Mission in Casper, Wyoming, the state’s only full-service shelter. Her team provides meals, shelter, counseling, case management, and a year-long recovery program to those in need. Recently, she helped the mission expand its reach with the addition of a 355-acre recovery ranch in the Medicine Bow National Forest, offering guests a peaceful place for restoration surrounded by God’s creation. Cheryl’s calling is deeply personal, shaped by her own experience with the pain of addiction in her family. After a season of loss and transition, she discovered her purpose in helping others find hope and healing through faith and compassionate service.

With a background in broadcast journalism, Cheryl brings strong communication and relationship-building skills to her leadership. Her studies at City Vision University have strengthened her ability to write grants, build strategic development plans, and lead with confidence and faith. Through courses in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, and major gifts, she has gained both practical tools and spiritual insight that enrich her work and her walk with Christ. As she continues her education toward an MBA in Executive Leadership, Cheryl’s vision is to inspire others—especially families affected by addiction—to persevere, grow in faith, and hold on to hope even in the darkest times.

Education has always helped me advance toward the goals I have for my life. It’s one of the ways we reflect the image of God—by always growing in wisdom and stature.” – Cheryl Hackett
