Michael Jones, BS in Business Administration

For as long as he could remember, ministry was his calling. At just 18, he was already serving in churches, leading others, and pouring himself into community work. But despite his hands-on experience and clear sense of purpose, one thing was missing: a college degree.

“I didn’t think college was for me,” he admits. “I jumped straight into ministry after high school. It just didn’t seem like the right time—or like it was even possible.”

Years later, while serving as an associate pastor, that old dream resurfaced. He’d earned an associate’s degree in business, discovering a passion for the intersection of ministry and organizational leadership. But the call to go further kept tugging at him. He needed a bachelor’s degree that would strengthen both his ministry and his practical skills—and more importantly, one that he could afford.

“I was searching everywhere for a program that fit my budget and my mission. My mom actually found City Vision first. She had ties to rescue missions and told me about it. At first, I brushed it off—but later, I took a second look, and everything clicked.”

What set City Vision apart? Three things:

  1. Affordability – Covered fully by FAFSA with little to no out-of-pocket cost.
  2. Christ-Centered Business Education – A rare blend of theological depth and practical business training.
  3. Credit for Life Experience – Through City Vision’s Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), years of ministry and missions work translated directly into college credits.

The result? He shaved nearly a year off his degree timeline and saved thousands of dollars. But the benefits didn’t stop there.

“The courses were practical. The professors were invested. The books I read? I now recommend them to other pastors and leaders.”

City Vision didn’t just help him finish a degree. It gave him a vision for the future.

“I didn’t really ever think I could go to college… I’m proud to have a bachelor’s degree from a Christian institution—and now I’m preparing for what’s next.”
