Course Description
In this course students will conduct independent study and research on a topic of their choice. Students interested in taking this course must first have an independent research study plan approved. This course may be taken a second time as ORG881.
Course Outcomes
- Formulate a clear, focused, and significant research problem within their chosen topic of study.
- Synthesize key theories, methodologies, and findings from a comprehensive review of scholarly literature to contextualize the research problem.
- Execute an approved research plan using appropriate methodologies to systematically investigate the research problem.
- Produce a substantial piece of scholarly writing (e.g., a research paper, dissertation chapter, or literature review) that effectively communicates the research process, findings, and conclusions.
