BUS101: Introduction to Business

Course Description

This course provides the foundational principles for operating a business. In this course you will learn the basics of economics, global business, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and operations. You will also explore the unique call for Christians in the business world and a Christian approach to business ethics. You will also learn principles of corporate social responsibility as well as how business principles can be applied in nonprofit and ministry contexts.

Course Objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to:

1. Identify foundational principles for operating a business including: economics, global business, social responsibility, entrepreneurship, accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and operations.

2. Apply foundational principles of operating a business to case studies

3. Reflect on the unique call of Christians in the business world as well as Christian business ethics.

4. Apply principles of corporate social responsibility and how to apply business principles in nonprofit and ministry contexts.
